2024 ongoing, cast glass
These are series of phone-sized cast glass objects meant for ‘phoning’: the variety of semi-magical functions our phones fulfill, and for pretending, tricking, and being ‘phoney’. They are simultaneously an experiment in object overniship structures, investigating the intimate sense of attachment phones generate. Some of the phoning glasses continuously change hands, some have travelled out of sight, some belong to the people dearest to me.
They have been used for reading Tarot cards, for calming down, for scriving, for confusing oneself in the morning. If interested, reach out to me and we’ll see if one can reach your hands.
